ANZAC Day Commemorations

SATURDAY, 25th APRIL 2020

 

Around the world, ANZAC Day ceremonies, parades and traditions will look different this year. Yet, there are still many ways for you to remember the sacrifice of the Australian and New Zealand personnel who have contributed and served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. 

Activity 1:

Lanterns for an ANZAC Day Dawn Service (from your driveway or balcony)

Materials

-      Empty plastic milk containers or jars

-      Marker pens, tea light/battery operated lights, scissors and a lead pencil

-      Stencil (can be free drawn or downloaded online)

-      Sand or something similar to give weight to your lanterns

Activity 2:

Observe one minute of silence with your family and discuss the value and purpose of the minute silence or learn to the play the Last Post.

Activity 3:

Create a thank for your service poster/video/message that can be shared with your local RSL or displayed online.

Activity 4:

Create your own crochet or paper poppies to display in your home or garden:
