Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our community. Numerous local businesses support our school by hosting students for work experience, work placement and work immersion programs. We have also partnered with local business to deliver skills-based learning for our students, with numerous School Based Traineeships in place. Our school proudly joined the Educational Pathways Program (EPP) in 2024. Learn more about the EPP.

Macksville High School proudly partners with Nambucca AECG and the local Land Council. We run cultural and language programs for students to support understanding, connection and identity. Our Aboriginal Education Officer supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through their High School journey. We often partner with local primary schools to support NAIDOC and Reconciliation events, while also engaging in talent development programs. In the senior years of schooling, many of our First Nations students successfully receive scholarships to support pathways to University and employment.
