Term 2 Update - Letter from our Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
I wish to thank you again for the support you have shown over these difficult times. Our staff have been in discussion on how we move forward and continue to meet the learning needs of our students both at school and remotely as well as balancing the health and safety needs of all staff in line with Health Department guidelines.
Our priority for return to school is Year 12. We will begin to bring our Year 12 students back from this Thursday so they can access classes, especially those with a practical component, to meet syllabus outcomes. We wish to give our Year 12 students every opportunity to receive support from their teachers in this critical year.
From Wednesday 29 April we will continue remote learning for all other students. For the next 8 school days I ask that unless it is absolutely necessary that you please continue to keep your student at home.
We encourage all students to follow the simplified timetable sent out at the end of last term. Roll call will take place during Session One each day from this timetable. ALL students will be required to be logged into the timetabled Google Classroom by 9:30 am for this roll call. Any device can be used. The Department of Education still requires schools to collect attendance data each day.
Our canteen remains closed at this time.
As of today we are yet to receive our order for extra hygiene products including sanitiser, soap and paper towel, and so I will need to limit numbers on site to enable appropriate access to regular handwashing.
From May 11 (week 3) year groups will return as follows:
Monday Years 7 and 12
Tuesday Years 11 and 12
Wednesday Year 8 (11 and 12 – Library – Senior Support Teacher)
Thursday Years 10 and 12
Friday Years 9, 11 and 12
The situation remains fluid and is dependent upon Department of Education and Government information. I will continue to endeavour to make our school a safe and healthy place for staff and students.
