Macksville High School Term 2, 2020

Staff development Days - Pupil Free Days will be Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 April 2020.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Our Premier, The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP, has announced how schools in NSW will be functioning from the beginning of term 2. I would like to clarify what this means for you and your children at Macksville High School.

The first two days of term 2, Monday 27 April and Tuesday 28 April, are School Development Days and students should not attend school on either day.

From Wednesday 29 April, as was the case at the end of term 1, our school will continue remote learning for all students and supervision at school for the children of essential workers. We ask that if you are not an essential worker, you continue to provide supervision and support for your children at home, rather than sending them to school. This is to assist us to maintain social distancing at school and to support our efforts in providing a safe working environment for our staff.

We also encourage all students to follow the simplified timetable sent out at the end of last term. Roll call will take place during Session One each day. ALL students will be required to be logged into Google Classroom by 9:30 am for this roll call. Any device can be used. The Department of Education still requires schools to collect attendance data each day.

This arrangement will continue for the first two weeks of term.

From Monday 11 May (week 3) students will be encouraged to attend school at least one day per week on a rostered basis. We will provide you with information about when your children will be able to come to school in the next week or so as we finalise details.

Again, I thank you for your support during this difficult time. Stay safe and take care.

Erica Lyne, Principal
